IFN and Amsterdam Fashion Tv and Dubai Fashion Tv during TRANOI in Paris proudly present ATELIER ROUGE PÉKIN.

ATELIER ROUGE PÉKIN (ARP) blends traditional Chinese elements of discretion with the energy of contemporary culture. The Women’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection presents a holistic collision between Eastern and Western cultural elements blended and united together. The fusion of “circles” in the textile design symbolises the oriental life philosophy, whereas the solid “squares” represent the western world; vibrant, modern and minimalist which also overlaps with the eastern traditional “Zen” environment. The contrast and integration of the two cultures is reflected through the simple Chinese asymmetric cutting techniques as well as in the textile combinations; silk fabrics, wool stitching, three-dimensional squares, circles and other graphics, creating an overall fluid look.

Following ARP’s Broken Star jewellery line, the inspiration for this season’s accessories collection is the Chinese character “Zhong”, which has a double connotation meaning “middle” -always being in the centre of two conflicts- and “China”. The collection showcases perfectly China’s current, modern spirit as well as the designer’s frustration with traditional Chinese doctrine.
Constantly inspired by Chinese Contemporary Art, for the SS16 collection, ARP collaborated with rising photographer Ren Hang to express the relation between the body and fashion, completely free of rules and taboo.
