Leading public and private entities host several workshops at the family-friendly event being held at Al Jawaher Convention Centre, Sharjah
In a bid to take their key messages of child safety, healthy eating, breast cancer awareness and more, to a larger number of families and visitors, several leading public and private organisations are participating at the family-oriented setting of the outdoor E88 Market. Through interactive workshops including craft and culinary sessions, live demonstrations, and mobile clinics, these organisations are driving home their messages to the hordes of visitors at the charming outdoor food, shopping and family festival in Sharjah.
In its second edition this year, E88 Market, organised by Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC), also features an alluring combination of delicious food and delicacies, safe play zones and other fun activities for the entire family.
Hosts JRCC took the lead in guiding young visitors into the intricate art of cupcake, popsicle, donut and ice cream cookie decoration through workshops designed to enhance kids’ creativity and inspire them to hone their out-of-the-box thinking skills. The young kids were excited to create their own colourful masterpieces, while also learning to innovate and experiment with new colours, techniques and ingredients.
Sheikha Aisha Bint Khaled Al Qasimi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, said: “E88 Market served as a platform for our talented members to showcase their diverse talents. Our young artists transformed the vibrant outdoor market into a live canvas with their multi-hued graffiti painting. They also held several stage activities including live music performances, quiz shows, and art challenges.”
“To reinforce our messages of child safety to the young ones gathered at E88 Market, we adopted an interactive story-telling format,” said Hanadi Saleh Al Yafei, Director of Child Safety Department (CSD), Sharjah. “Some of the key topics addressed included the importance of child safety at home and in public places. We also offered tips and strategies on how to ensure safety especially in public areas where children are more likely to get lost.”
Pink Caravan took advantage of the presence of a large number families, especially women, at the E88 Market to raise breast cancer awareness and highlight the importance of early detection and prevention by offering free clinical breast examinations for women above the age of 20 and mammogram screening for women above the age of 40 through its mobile clinic at the event.
Sharjah Civil Defence delivered fire safety messages in two workshops for young children to help them recognise common fire hazards, what to do in an emergency, and to call 997 if there is a fire.
Stage shows, sand art workshops, and the screening of a movie were among the highlights of Sharjah Youth Centre’s activities held at E88 Market to focus on creativity and early detection of young talents.
Members of Sharjah Children, a subsidiary of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, presented grand musical performance at the closing ceremony of E88 Market.
Jumping Clay UAE engaged children in various arts and crafts workshops designed to develop their motor skills and imagination. Among the various clay modelling workshops that will be offered during the concluding week of E88 include finger puppets, pencil toppers and bag zippers.
Saudi German Hospital will continue to educate young children on the importance of hand hygiene as a way of keeping certain illnesses at bay, provide basic first aid knowledge in case of emergency, and discuss ways to identify and avoid unhealthy food for a healthy body and mind.
The E88 Market concludes on January 4, 2020.
